You will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger

Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear. The angel said to them, "Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger." And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying: "Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.

Advent is a time of anticipation and preparation for the birth of Jesus. It is a time to think about what we can share with others in return for all the gifts God has given us, especially the gift of Jesus

This December our school children and anyone else who wishes to share in this joy of giving are asked to donate peanut butter and jelly to the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry. SVDP is also asking for children's coats, hats, mittens during the months of December and January. Used but clean articles of any size would be appreciated. St. Vincent De Paul will use all items. convenient drop off boxes are located in the by the school office and the back of church for the food items. The clothing can be left in the drop-off box in the parking lot.

St. Florian Parish will celebrate the weeks of advent with special children's services in the Gym at 1:30PM on the following dates: November 29, December 13, and December 20. The children will also be part of the the liturgy in Church for the Feast of Immaculate Conception on December 8.
