Adopt-A-Platoon Comic Book Drive

As part of this yearís book fair, the library is asking students and their families to bring in new and used comic books for our soldiers. We have adopted three platoons stationed in Iraq and/or Afghanistan and would like to send them.

Soldiers get plenty of books and magazines but very few comic books and soldiers love comic books. Not only do they read them, they give them to the children in the area.

 
We also hope to send CDs and DVDs to the troops. So if you donít have a comic book, perhaps you can donate a music CD or Movie?

There will also be a jar at the book fair in case you interested in making a donation to offset the cost of mailing the material to the soldiers.

We have been informed by Adopt-A-Platoon that all comic books, CDs and DVDs must be Inoffensive, so please no ìgraphic novelsî ì Parental Advisoryî CDs or ìRî rated DVDs.

Along with the donations we also welcome your letters and prayers to our troops.
