St. Florian Youth Group is open to all high school students. It is conducted by Fr. Terry Deffenbaugh, O.S.A. from Tolentine Retreat Center in Olympia Fields. Fr. Terry is well known in our surrounding area for his work with youth.

Meetings will take place according to the schedule below.

We meet in Konsowski Hall. located at 13141 Houston Ave. Meetings begin at 7:00PM and end at approximately 9:00PM. All teens are welcome to attend any meeting.

Note some meetings are specific to the sacrament of confirmation and are open only to the confirmation candidates and designated guests.

Meeting Schedule:

  • January 12, 2007 (Tueday)-- 7:00-9:00 pm (Confirmation Parents Meeting)
  • January 16, 2007 (Tueday)-- 7:00-9:00 pm
  • February 5, 2007 (Monday) -- 7:00-9:00 pm (Sponsor and Candidate Night)
  • February 27, 2007 (Tueday)-- 7:00-9:00 pm
  • March 20, 2007 (Tueday) --7:00-9:00 PM ( Compassionate experinece of the Crucifixion)
  • May 1, 2007 (Tuesday) -- 7:00-9:00 pm
  • May 3, 2007 (Thursday)-- 7:00-9:00 pm (Parents Sponsor Candidate Practice)
  • May 5, 2007 (Saturday) -- 4:00 pm Confirmation Liturgy

From the Gospel of Mark: (10:13-16)

And people were bringing children to him that he might touch them, but the disciples rebuked them.


When Jesus saw this he became indignant and said to them, "Let the children come to me; do not prevent them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.


Amen, I say to you, whoever does not accept the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it."


Then he embraced them and blessed them, placing his hands on them.
